Safe Driving and Vehicle Preparation for Transporting Children
24 July 20266 min read
Transporting a child begins before the engine is even started. A prepared vehicle, an age- and size-appropriate child seat, and a familiar route are more important than arriving a few minutes earlier.
Vehicle Check
- Before starting the journey, check the tires, brakes, lights, and windshield visibility.
- The child seat must be appropriate for the child's height and weight and installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Activate the child safety locks and secure heavy items so they cannot move freely inside the vehicle.
- Keep water and the parent's phone number easily accessible, and make sure your phone has sufficient battery charge.
On the Road
Do not rush near the school entrance. Stop in an authorized area, wait until the child can safely get out of the vehicle, and make sure they have entered the appropriate area. If the route changes because of traffic, inform the parent. Safe driving means a calm speed, predictable braking, and zero distraction from the phone.
